Neo Geo heads to Virtual Console in September

SNK has confirmed that titles from the Neo Geo console will be heading onto the Wii’s Virtual Console in Japan from September. As for other territories, well, no one knows yet…

The arrival of the Nintendo Wii’s retro download service’s sixth format (NES, SNES, Mega Drive, N64 and TurboGrafx-16 being those already established) will kick off on September 11 with beat-em-up Fatal Fury, followed later on in the month by World Heroes. Third in line will be Magician Lord and each title will set players back 900 Wii Points.

The Neo Geo is renowned for an abundance of 2D fighting and shoot-em-ups, so we for one are looking forward to its eventual emergence on Western shores.
