A placeholder at GameStop’s online store has revealed that Ubisoft’s guitar simulator for the Nintendo DS is to be sold (not exclusively, we imagine) as part of a Performance Bundle that includes… an amplifier!
The title allows gamers to replicate the playing of a guitar by plucking the instrument’s strings on the handheld console. Strumming the strings will be performed via the lower touch screen, with flicks of the stylus “producing an authentic sound digitally re-mastered from an actual acoustic guitar,” Ubisoft previously explained.
The game will include a variety of easy-to-play modes including Performance Mode which will allow Nintendo DS owners to both strum and sing along to “today’s hottest artists” at the same time; Free Play Mode where you will be able to play anything you choose and Tutorial Mode which aims to replace the need to pay for guitar lessons in real life, instead utilising the DS as an electronic teacher of your very own.
We’ve no idea of the quality of the accessory, but we imagine it’d be just about suitable for small gatherings of people. Want an idea of how it might sound? Check out this video to see Jam Sessions hooked up to an amp and played at a rock concert.
