id Software conjours up Orcs and Elves screens
id Software first revealed that it was to bring Orcs and Elves to the Nintendo DS back in January this year. Originally a title for mobile phones, the game described as an adventure-RPG sees a young elf on a quest to must retake a Dwarven city from the evil army occupying it.
“With Orcs & Elves we were able to take what was great about DOOM RPG, and bring tons of new features to the experience in a brand new world,” said John Carmack, founder and technical director, id Software. “The pace of development in mobile gaming allows us to evolve by leaps and bounds each year, rather than stretched out over four years like a high end PC or console game.”
Using an advanced DOOM Engine, Orcs and Elves, visually, reminds us very much of the classic first-person shooter.
Orcs and Elves is currently penned for a November 13 release date in North America.
