EA gears up to FIFA 08 release with new screens
Electronic Arts has released a shedload of new screenshots for FIFA 08 on the Nintendo Wii, as the annual battle between it and Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer begins… except that Wii owners won’t be receiving the latter until next spring, giving EA something of a monopoly on the system. The new stills show off mini-games and in-game action.
Amongst the modes on show in the Wii-exclusive Football Party mode are Table Football and Keep Up. The latter appears to be a test of rhythm in an Elite Beat Agents-alike challenge to keep the soccer ball in midair. We imagine that Table Football involves a lot of wrist-snapping Wii Remote twisting.
The screenshots also detail the Wii Remote gestures used to take free kicks in the main game, but it’s still difficult to tell how players will relay exactly where they want the ball to travel.
FIFA 08 is released on the Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS on september 27, September 28 and October 09 in Europe, Australia and North America respectively.

Wasn’t it the EA-Director himself that said: “Hey, we’re gonna change our tactics. Let’s not develop these easey Fifa ‘08, ‘09, ‘10, Sims 2,3,4,5..20 series?
Maybe, but to not make a FIFA out of principal could be likened to cutting your nose off to spite your face.
If someone asked you if you wanted to be able to print money would you say no?
