[TGS07] Konami shows off Solid Snake in Smash Bros. Brawl

During Konami’s press conference at the Tokyo Games Show, the firm has shown off the first images of Solid Snake’s cameo in Super Smash Bros. Brawl since he appeared in the E3 2006 trailer.

A younger version of Snake is seen hovering down into battle before squaring off against Super Mario’s arch nemesis, one King Bowser, in what appears to be a bout taking place on the rooftops of Isle Delfino. The earlier trailer saw the Metal Gear Solid star hiding in his trademark cardboard box, but whether it has been included in the main game is not yet known.

Now… what chance of Sonic the Hedgehog appearing somewhere along the line?

The box should be in the game. Today’s update on their website revealed a boatload of information on Snake, including several screenshots. There’s one screenshot of Snake bursting out from a box and surprising Mario on the Isle Delfino stage.
