Electronic Arts has released the first official screenshots of The Simpsons Game for the Nintendo DS. The side-scrolling platformer that parodies a variety of videogames is being released alongside its 3D home console counterpart.

The six stills are looking fantastic in terms of art style, a perfect representation of the animated cartoon. Grand Theft Auto, Space Invaders and Viva Pinata are all mimicked in the new screenshots, and we get a sneaky peak at Marge and her microphone, Homer’s inflated state and also a soaring Bartman.

The Nintendo DS build includes 12 episodes and over 2,000 lines of dialogue, while the stylus is used to solve puzzles and defeat adversaries. There are also a variety of mini-games, single cart multiplayer for up to 4 DS owners and the adorable Pet Homer.
