New Wii browser pics

Computerandvideogames.com has some new pictures of the Wii browser that’ll be free for download until June 2007. The browser is a little different because of no mouse and keyboard, but it still looks pretty awesome.

Since Nintendo teamed up with Opera for their browser on the DS, this same collaboration happens on the Wii. Using a Wiimote instead of a mouse might even feel better and more natural. As you see below, you just literally point and click on interactive items. It will all work very fluidly.

Wii Browser (Opera)

If browsing the internet from your couch becomes popular, Microsoft might start looking into creating a version of I.E. for the Xbox 360. Sony is already putting a browser into the PS3 console that will resemble the PSPs browser.

looks good hope you can watch vids on it

Yeah, I’m looking forward to playing YouTube videos on my TV, if that’s a supported Wii browser feature.

this is cool. i really want just a simple browser for the 360, i dont even need flash support. checking email and icgamers and whatever else feels important that day.

YouTube videos are done in Flash. The Wii browser supports flash so there is no reason why you couldn’t watch YouTube or Google Videos within the browser. Other movie formats like QuickTime and WMV’s may be a different story.

the psp has flash but it cant play youtube videos. the reason is psp has flash 6. youtube needs flash 8. flash 9 has just been released last month. so theoretically, the wii browser must have 8 or higher to play flash videos from youtube and the likes.
