Super Smash Bros. delayed until 2008 in US
After Nintendo’s Fall briefing in Japan earlier this week, one which brought news that Super Smash Bros. Brawl would be delayed in Japan until January 24, 2008, North Americans might’ve been desperately hanging on to the fact that it would still launch stateside this year. ‘Fraid not. During the Nintendo Conference yesterday, Nintendo of Japan president Iwata announced the delay:
“ “In order to fine tune Smash bros, with this unprecedented game depth, we have decided that we have to take a little more time to complete the game than we announced before. We are sorry for the fans that are already anxiously waiting for the launch, but we would like to launch this game on January 24th, 2008 in Japan. As for the North American launch, we will review that too, and our local subsidiaries will make their own announcements.”
That “local subsidiary,” Nintendo of America has announced today, reports GameInformer, that Super Smash Bros. Brawl will battle its way onto the Wii in the United States on February 10, 2008. The previous release date had been cited as December 03.
So February 10, 2008 for the US it is. Europe, meanwhile, still has a vague “early 2008″ guestimate.

Yeah this better be worth it. I am really hoping with the extra time they will add more online features and a better online system at that. I am really really hoping for voice chat. But anyways they better make it a perfect game.

Yeah, it sucks (I’m a HUGE SSB fan, was awaiting it so intently) but when has Nintendo last let us down? Better to fine tune a great product and ship late than ship early a bad product, I say.

hey augustubot, Are you going to post your Wii on ebay for 2$? If so, can you post the link here? I think a vast majority of potential sellers would disagree with your price point, but i’d be happy to pick it up for that. Yeah this does suck, but, there are many other games to play.
