The Orange Box’s Portal headed to Nintendo Wii?

While the Microsoft Xbox 360, PC gaming public are currently enjoying the brilliant Orange Box for their systems (PS3 owners join in the fun in November), it might seem like the Nintendo Wii is missing out on all the fun. However, rumour has it that this might be about to change. No, the complete Orange Box set won’t be on its way to the console, but the package’s brilliant little first-person puzzle-platformer Portal could be.

Game Guru 101 reports that the head honchos at developer Valve are currently contemplating briging Portal to the Nintendo Wii, complete with brand new levels and to take advantage of the machine’s motion sensing control.

The game consists primarily of a series of puzzles which must be solved by teleporting the player’s character and other simple objects using the Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device. The goal of each puzzle is to reach an exit point. The “portal gun” and the unusual physics it creates are the emphasis of this game.

Portal has been a surprise hit with Half-Life fans and has heaped with much positive critical reception.

We’ll bring you more on this rumour as and when/if it develops.

I love the song that plays at the end of the game,

Portal is a must have, rather short, but great.

Thank you Valve, (if you read this)

Valve come on do it. The controls are worth it alone. I would love to play even one HL1 port not to mention a new game like portal.

I have to say that Metroid Prime corruption is a prime example for how well first person shooters can be.

Droooool

Surprise hit? WTF are you talking about? It was obvious well before-hand that the game would be rock-em-sock-em. I mean, if Valve’s track record wasn’t enough, the trailers were awesome, and besides, Valve’s track record!

Sorry, but the reason the Orange Box wasn’t released on the Wii because the Wii just isn’t technologically advanced enough to support it. And portal was the most technologically complex game on the wii. It’s just impossible.

I`m pretty sure the Wii can handle the Portal if it can handle of the other games on it.
