Other than a version of Typing of the Dead on the Game Boy Advance, which only ever made it to retail in Japan, Sega’s immensely popular zombie-filled arcade shooting title, House of the Dead, has never graced a Nintendo console so far. However, thanks to the immense popularity of Wii, the company has done a U-turn and announced a duo of games from the series.

Following an early listing that appeared on US website Gamefly, Sega has quickly come out of the woodwork to publicly confirm that it is bringing ‘The House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return’ to Nintendo’s innovative, motion-sensing Wii console. In the newly announced title, players will be able to play both versions of the game and will be made to battle against the relentless flow of blood-thirsty zombies that will be readying themselves to attack you at every turn.

However, with the help of the Wii’s controller, nunchuk, Wii Zapper, a steady aim and a quick trigger finger, players will experience branching storylines with over six game modes including Arcade Mode and Time Attack modes that will test their shooting skills to the maximum. ‘The House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return’ features an engaging single-player campaign, plus a co-operative multiplayer mode that caters for up to two players and provides for countless hours of zombie shooting action.

The House of the Dead franchise in general is infamous for its “heart-pounding pace and the great visual detail of the vast armies of unique enemies”. Now Wii owners will be able to blast through legions of grotesque zombies and mutated monsters before eventually facing-off against colossal boss monsters that will test the accuracy and skill of every Wii gamer around the world.
