If the need to live the life of glittery music star Hannah Montana occupies your every waking thought – and, let’s face it, that’s pretty much all of us – then you’re likely to lose control of several major muscles groups upon learning that the tantalisingly titled ‘Hannah Montana: Music Jam’ is appearing exclusively on the Nintendo DS.

Arriving as a more cute and cuddly (not to mention licensed) adventure-based take on Ubisoft’s focused Jam Sessions, the new Hannah Montana music game allows players to ‘become’ Disney’s Emmy Award nominated pop star heroine and lead the same double life enjoyed by high school student Miley Stewart in the TV show.

Much like the hit show, the DS-exclusive game tasks the player with juggling the balance between fame and friends, only this time Hannah must attempt to fend off the rise of rival rock chick Savannah Star – with the two talents eventually facing off to win the coveted Music Jam Online Award.

To stand a chance of winning the award, Hannah must learn a wealth of new musical instruments via several interactive mini-games, which involve the touch-screen and microphone, while also composing music videos and performing a myriad of ‘go-fetch’ jobs issued by various in-game NPCs.

Much like Jam Sessions and Guitar Hero, when learning the variable guitars through Hannah Montana: Music Jam, the player strums across the touch screen with the stylus, striking virtual chords as they pass down the on-screen fret board. A positive ABC News review (which awards the game with 4.5 out of 5) likens its interactive gameplay, which also covers drums and other instruments, to a mixture between Dance Dance Revolution (DDR) and Elite Beat Agents.
