Ghostbusters action on Nintendo DS detailed

Along with the Nintendo Wii version of a Ghostbusters game, a Nintendo DS version was also revealed to be in the works, built by Red Fly Studio, the brains behind its home console counterpart. Today we learn that the portable specter-hunting adventure will be feature more management-based gaming feast, challenging players to take control of the Ghostbusters business wranglings.

UK-based magazine NGamer reports that Ghostbusters on the Nintendo DS will feature a top-down view, as apposed to the Wii’s 3D adventuring. There aren’t any screenshots as yet, but with Red Fly plumping for a more cartoon-based look for Ghostbusters on Wii, we’d imagine they’d follow suit for the handheld too. Players will earn money by ridding New York’s buildings of ghosts, funds that we imagine will come in handy to buy new equipment for the frightening job in hand.

Whether the stylus will be used in interesting ways isn’t yet known, but with the Wii version of Ghostbusters known to include mini-games with Ghost Traps, Proton Packs and the shuffleboard, chances that the DS build will have similar are fairly high.

Ghostbusters hits stores in Autumn 2008. We’ll bring you news on both the Nintendo DS and Wii versions as we get it.
