Square makes FFXII: Revenant Wings a Euro Valentine’s gift
My, Square Enix has been busy with its European announcements today. In the third of the day, the firm has announced that following its Japanese and North American releases, Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings will swoop onto the Nintendo DS in Europe on February 15 2008, just a day after Valentine’s day.
Set a year after the events of Final Fantasy XII, Revenant Wings’ goal is to answer of the mysteries players want answering in relation to the likes of Vaan, Penelo, Fran and Balthier, heroes in the original title. The new journey will see gamers returning to the land of Ivalice to encounter new enemies, locations and characters.
Revenant sees the evolution of the innovative Gambit system that allows automated commands to be issued during real-time combat. Smart Touch Screen controls provide complete power over your actions and allow you to play solely using the Nintendo DS stylus - which is nice.
John Yamamoto, president and chief executive officer of Square Enix Ltd. commented, “I am delighted that we are providing fans with another opportunity to enjoy the beautiful world of Ivalice. With the same high-production values including movies and music, FINAL FANTASY XII: REVENANT WINGS is a stunning sequel that expands upon the original game and that makes full use of the Nintendo DS hardware.”
