Japanese mags round-up: One Piece: Unlimited Cruise, Blue Dragon, FFCC

Being so close to Christmas, it’s no surprise that this week’s Japanese magazine content of note isn’t full of new and exclusive game reveals, but more from what us eager gamers can expect in the months to come. Highlights include One Piece: Unlimited Cruise for the Nintendo Wii and Blue Dragon Plus for the Nintendo DS.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Young King and the Promised Land
FF CC: TYKatPL will tell the story of what happened in the time after the original Crystal Chronicles. The Little King of the subtitle, who lost his kingdom due to the events of the first game, acquires the power to build structures and uses his newfound talent to revive his fallen kingdom. The game’s genre is described as a “Country Building RPG.” This week’s V-Jump shows off new screens of the WiiWare exclusive.

Hitman Reborn! Wii

More new screens of Marvelous Interactive’s Hitman Reborn! in this week’s V-Jump magazine in Japan. Already available for the Sony PlayStation 2, the manga-themed beat-em-up includes 15 characters from the popular series.

Island Sports

A single page full of images from Sports Island was published in this week’s V-Jump magazine. The Wii Sports-alike features a variety of disciplines that promise to make imaginative use of the Wii’s motion sensitive controls. Prepare yourself for the likes of basketball, skiing, beach volleyball and karting on its release next spring.

One Piece: Unlimited Cruise

After the first screenshots were unveiled last week, this week’s V-Jump magazine gives us another glimpse at the upcoming One Piece: Unlimited Adventure. Set for release in two parts, it’s looking rather pretty indeed.

Tales of Symphonia

S new batch of images of Tales of Symphonia: Knight of Ratatosk were published in this week’s V-Jump magazine. Set two years after the events of Tales of Symphonia on the Nintendo GameCube, it is currently penned for a Japanese release in spring next year.

Nintendo DS

Naruto Shippuden Dairansen

Japanese magazine V-Jump has published a new look at Naruto Shippuden Dairansen for the Nintendo DS. The four-player beat-em-up is scheduled for release in Japan on February 14 next year.

Dragon Quest V

After a grand reveal last week in V-Jump, this week’s issue of the magazine along with Famitsu have new shots of what many consider the best entry in the long-running RPG series. Due for release in Japan next spring, it shares much in common with its predecessor, although more team characters and something described by Jump’s editor as a “new choice of life” is also included.

Bleach: The 3rd Phantom

More new images of SEGA’s latest addition to the Bleach series this week in V-Jump. The tactical RPG promises to bring together over 180 of the franchise’s best known characters and is currently penned for release in spring 2008 in Japan.

Blue Dragon Plus

After confirming the existence of the title last week, V-Jump this weel publishes new images of Blue Dragon Plus for the Nintendo DS. Based on the adventures of the characters from the Microsoft Xbox 360 RPG, it is planned for release in Japan next March.

Summon Night

Banpresto’s Summon Night is returning with a new RPG sequel for the Nintendo DS. A popular series in Japan, the series has never officially been brought to the United States until recently with the release of Summon Night: Swordcraft Story for the GBA on July 26, 2006, much like another Banpresto series - Super Robot Wars. Its popularity in Japan has also spawned novels, drama CDs and an anime. This week’s V-Jump shows off new screenshots.

Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days

This week’s V-Jump publishes new images of Square Enix’s Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days on the Nintendo DS, a title that should be playable at Jump Festa 2008 in Japan.

Dr. Slump Arale-chan

Namco Bandai’s Dr. Slump Arale-chun is documented a little more in this week’s V-Jump, displaying the numerous costumes that the title’s heroine will adorn throughout her adventures. It is currently planned for a release at the beginning of 2008 in Japan.

Blast, if only I could understand the Tales of Symphonia article. Im so psyched about it.
