Special mat released for Nintendo’s Wii Fit
Many people will know peripheral maker Hori for its range of controllers for the GameCube and Wii systems, with a special SNES-style pad for the GameCube and an arcade one recently being released on Wii. But now the company is back with something a little more unusual - a mat that can be used with Wii Fit.
Considering how popular Nintendo’s latest Wii project has been, it is not surprising that companies have been keen to jump on-board the fitness regime. However, this new product from Hori is quite unusual, in that all it is is a special green mat that can be placed underneath the Wii’s Balance Board in order to prevent the peripheral from potentially sliding from underneath your feet and resulting in a possible major catastrophe. It also appears to be slightly cushioned, meaning that when you have to place your feet or knees on the ground, those with hardwood floors will no longer have aching bodily parts from getting into the various required positions that Wii Fit puts you in. But would you really want a “Wii Fit Mat”? Just take a look at the images of it below and consider that the price is roughly US$32. If you are still interested after that, then it will be hitting the streets of Japan sometime in February.
