Japanese Virtual Console line-up announced

The Japanese will today be receiving their latest Nintendo product, and they will probably all want to know what games will be available on their Virtual Console, and what is coming in the future. See after the jump for the massive list. And, sadly for Americans, it seems that the Japanese have got the better deal.

Any game marked with an * denotes a game also available for the Americans. Points obviously refers to Wii Points.

Ah, they were the days!

As you can see, the US are missing a fair few titles. You can expect the UK to be missing even more, since we get screwed out of everything. One thing that should be noted is that although the US don’t get Bomerman ‘94, they get Bomberman ‘93 instead. The difference? No idea, but why this has happened is anyones’ guess. And two games from the SNES for the US compared to nine for Japan?! Wow, that is a big blow.

I can’t say I’m hugely excited about all those just yet. F-Zero was quite enjoyable, though lacked multiplayer, and there are a fair few that I’ve never even heard of. The Donkey Kong games might be quite fun again, as would Mario, of course. Apart from that, not much exciting stuff for me. No doubt I’ll get curious and buy several anyway when the Wii launches next week in the UK.

Any of you annoyed or excited about this? Perhaps you now know whether you’ll need a retro port to use your old controllers for some of the games. Whatever your feelings, be sure to leave them in the comments section.

I never played Super Castlevania (I never really had an SNES), so I’ll have a lot to look forward to with the VC… whenever the games get released here. :P
