Nancy Drew returns for another Nintendo DS investigation
With the casebook on one of Nancy Drew’s mysteries already closed on the Nintendo DS in the form of ‘Deadly Secret of Olde World Park’, Majesco had announced today that the teenage sleuth is back in a new adventure subtitled ‘The Mystery of the Clue Bender Society.’
The Mystery of the Clue Bender Society revolves around Nancy Drew’s attempts to become part of said special club. Her ticket to acceptance into the celebrated circle is achievable only if she trumps two fellow candidates in a series of challenges. However, what is supposed to be a dramatised test suddenly turns very real when a secret tome containing the solutions to history’s greatest mysterious goes missing, and it’s down to Nancy and her chums to help recover the lost books.
New feature highlights in the DS sequel include:
- Unravelling nine fresh chapters and completing progressively difficult tasks including new fingerprint retrieval and identification, trailing suspects, interrogations, and even snowmobiling and boating.
- Using the Touch Screen to: play new contextual detective games, and access the Suspect File and map feature to ensure Nancy never loses the trail.
- Using the DS microphone to discover hidden clues.
- Monitoring Nancy’s cell phone to keep up with all the breaking information.
“The Nancy Drew brand is marked by a distinctive ’snowballing’ of suspects, clues and danger as the teen detective works to solve the deepening mystery,” said Gui Karyo, Executive Vice President of Operations, Majesco. “Nancy Drew: The Mystery of the Clue Bender Society delivers this signature intrigue while incorporating a host of compelling new interactive features that augment the Touch Screen experience.”
While hardly revolutionary, last year’s Nancy Drew adventure (or this year’s if you live in Europe) was a surprisingly competent package. Here’s hoping Mystery of the Clue Bender Society offers up much of the same.
