Space Invaders Get Even - first details, screenshots
Just days after the game was first uncovered in a tiny corner of Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu, Taito has released the first few images of its Nintendo Wii Space Invaders title, Space Invaders Get Even. For a first look and details, head inside.
The brand new Space Invaders title offers a fresh twist on the classic franchise, in that it is played from the perspective of the Invaders themselves, which the players will instruct to destroy levels split into three sections - the forest, city and military areas. Other types of environments are also reported to appear.
The analogue stick on the Nunchuck controller is used to direct the UFO, while the Wii Remote will be used to manoeuvre a total of 300 “8-BIT” Invaders. It isn’t yet clear what abilities each set of Invader will offer, but the first set of screenshots show different sets dispersing to swarm targets, as well as forming a large, vertical wall of attack.
It all looks beautifully chaotic if you ask us.
