Guitar Hero: On Tour confirmed for DS - details this week

Confirmation that a Guitar Hero title for the Nintendo DS was in development was first uncovered way back in August 2007, and now rumours that it is called Guitar Hero: On Tour have been verified - as well as the exciting news that details of the game will be divulged on Wednesday this week.

When quizzed about the existence of a version of Guitar Hero III for the Nintendo DS last year, Charles Huang of developer RedOctane said,

…While the technical path hasn’t been set yet, we intend for this to be a very unique experience just like Guitar Hero was on consoles. This will play probably unlike any other DS game that has come out, and at this stage, that’s all I’m afraid we can talk about until we have the engineering paths laid out with Nintendo.

A month later in September 2007, we learnt that Guitar Hero on the Nintendo DS will feature graphics consistent with the console version, as well as a unique control system that does not make use of the handheld’s stylus.
