Wii Exercise to include Balance Board support
Nintendo’s very own Wii Fit has already been very well publicised throughout the gaming world, but Japanese firm Rocket Company also has a Wii title that aims to get players sweating their way into shape. First uncovered last August, today we learn a few more details about Wii Exercise, including how it will now use the Wii Balance Board.
We say “how it will now use the Wii Balance Board,” as originally the developer had planned to sell the game without compatibility with the new accessory. However, we imagine seeing that Wii Fit had sold over a million copies in its first month on release in Japan, was enough to get them to change their mind.
The original plan for Wii Exercise was to allow gamers to have a planned workout through punching gestures with the Wii Remote and Nunchuck - virtual shadow boxing if you will. Now, though, use of the Balance Board will allow gamers to indulge in power training activities, including squats, push-ups and sit-ups.
Wii Exercise, reports Siliconera, also includes aids gamers in planning a diet program to further support their fitness regime.
Wii Exercise is scheduled to weigh into Japanese stores this spring.
