Block Breaker Deluxe announced for WiiWare
GameLoft, a firm better known for its videogames designed for mobile phones and other portable devices, has today announces an Arkanoid-esque title for WiiWare, entitled Block Breaker Deluxe, an upgraded port of the popular iPod distraction.
The game will arrive on the download service for Japanese gamers this April, and will include controls mapped to the Wii Remote (moving the board at the bottom of the screen left and right with motion gestures playing a heavy part, we imagine). Block Breaker Deluxe will include over 50 stages, as well as a split screen multiplayer mode, which involves breaking blocks that are then dumped on your opponents screen.
For clearing each stage (groups of which look to be themed, such as the casino setting in the images above), players will be, we gather, be awarded a currency with which they can purchase a selection of 14 items from a shop to upgrade their ‘board’.
At a cost of 800 Wii Points, it seems like a little bit too much to charge for such a simple game, if you ask us. Still, the multiplayer’ll likely add to Block Breaker Deluxe’s longevity.
