After rumours that the title would launch in North America on July 1 emerged earlier on this month, Square Enix has now confirmed that Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo’s Dungeon will in fact arrive Stateside exactly a week later, on July 08.

Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo’s Dungeon follows the exploits of Chocobo and Cid, after they are magically transported to a mysterious town whose people’s memories are lost with each bell toll of the clock tower. One day, a strange boy named
Raffaello arrives and creates dungeons of memories to help the townspeople remember who they are. And you guessed it, it’s left up to our brave duo to plunder through said dungeons to rescue the thoughts of the town’s amnesic population.

The staple of Chocobo Dungeon’s gameplay is that of randomly generated dungeons and turn-based battling, although a versatile job system (including black mage, knight and scholar classes) have also been implemented to add depth and variety to proceedings.
