Rising Star prepares Europe for budget Nintendo DS fishing
Whilst Rising Star Games has already seen massive success with Harvest Moon DS here in Europe in the past year or so, followed by the moderate success of Harvest Moon: Magical Melody on Wii, its parent company’s fishing related titles have not been in the spotlight anywhere near as much as the farming adventures. However, the publisher is hoping that will all change with the release of ‘Harvest Fishing’.
Known by many under the name of ‘Legend of the River King’, Rising Star is hoping to cash-in on the popularity of the Harvest Moon franchise in Europe by labelling this latest release as ‘Harvest Fishing’ instead. Previously it was revealed that the game would launch in May, prior to the release of Rune Factory: A Fantasy Harvest Moon, but that now looks unlikely as the newly unveiled date will be Friday, 27th June, 2008. The best part of the delay, though, is that the fishing / puzzle game will come at the pleasingly low price-point of 29.99 Euro / £19.99.
Below are some key details about the game:
“With your sister having fallen into an endless sleep, it’s up to you to journey through rivers, swamps, ponds and hidden fishing spots in search of the River King. Being the biggest fish in the river, it is he who holds the secret to her mysterious slumber. But don’t worry because you’re not alone in this adventure. Make friends with the magical creatures of the valley and a host of colourful characters to unlock their abilities to help you along the way.”
- Innovative fishing engine using the Touch Screen;
- Amass a collection of baits, lures, rods and more!
- Participate in a variety of fishing games;
- Have a fishing tournament with your friends via the Nintendo Wi-Fi;
- Connection or Nintendo DS Wireless for head-to head play for 2 to 4 players.
