Jeep Thrills races onto Nintendo Wii
Every time a new racing game is announced (especially a ’serious’, licensed one), we find ourselves sulking at how the Nintendo Wii still doesn’t have a definitive, realistic racing title to call its own. Something tells us that Destination Software’s Jeep Thrills isn’t going to fill that gaping hole.
Destination Software explains that Jeep Thrills “brings the excitement of intense off-road racing into the home while incorporating the rugged style and attitude quintessential of the Jeep lifestyle.” Right-o…
Players will be able to choose from some 20 Jeep vehicles, ranging from the classic World War II body style of the Willys, to more modern designs such as the Wrangler and Compass models. Multi-player racing allows two players to compete head-to-head on more than 30 outdoor courses through hilled jungles and frozen tundra.
“’JeepThrills’ delivers off road thrills and excitement that can only be experienced in the most capable off road vehicle. Destination Software has done a terrific job bringing the Jeep off road experience to video game play,” stated Debra Joester, President and CEO of The Joester Loria Group.
“Video game racing is a genre that attracts imitators, but the Jeep brand screams authenticity,” says Bruce Kain, DSI’s Vice President of Operations. “There is nothing more synonymous with off-road excitement than the Jeep brand, and this is an ideal partnership for an intense, four-wheeling racer.”
Jeep Thrills is also being released for the Sony PlayStation 2. And get this, while its version costs a mere $9.99 USD, the Nintendo Wii build will retail for $29.99 USD. It’ll launch this summer.
