Capcom confirms WiiWare support - “very shortly” says VP
In proof of ever-growing support for Nintendo’s newest interactive Channel, and following the revelation that Treasure is planning two new titles for the service, Capcom has become the latest third party developer to confirm its support for Nintendo’s WiiWare.
The firm’s Vice President Christian Svenson confirmed that his company definitely had plans to work on the Wii’s newest channel:
Speaking to Gamasutra, when questioned about Capcom’s plans regarding WiiWare, the firm’s Vice President Christian Svenson confirmed that his company definitely had plans to work on the service, but were working on something to suit it properly:
“I’m going to lump WiiWare in with PSP e-distribution, in that we’re looking for the right content first — a lot of the content we have now isn’t quite right in value or approach or interface for WiiWare.
I fully expect us to be doing some WiiWare titles very shortly in the west. I won’t speak for Japan on that particular issue, but there are interesting things happening at some point there, maybe.
Svensson added that there were already a “couple of concepts internally that I think would be perfect for Wii…”
In related WiiWare news, Treasure president Masoto Maegawa recently confirmed to CNET Japan that his company were working on two new titles for the download service. While not going into specifics, he did divulge that both games were 3D, rather than the 2D experience for which the cult developer is renowned.
Which franchises from either Capcom or Treasure would you like to see on WiiWare? Let us know in the comments section below.

I would sure like to see some Monster hunter. It be cool to make it Wi-fi too. I would like to see a Megaman game on wii also, big faves were megaman series and X series. But would want to see’em on wiiware, i think.
The classic Megaman games (Original and “X” series) are the best. None of this Battle Network crap.
