If, announced last week, the extortionate price you’ll have to pay for Rock Band in Europe hasn’t put you off wanting to buy Electronic Arts’ rhythm/music title, then you’ll be wanting to know that reports suggest the Nintendo Wii build arrives in the continent on August 29, a full three months after the Microsoft Xbox 360 version., following its timed exclusivity on the market.

In case you’ve been in a hovel keeping Pete Doherty company for the past year or so, you’ll know that Rock Band, developed by Harmonix, attempts to do what Guitar Hero has done for the rhythm/music genre - and better it, adding drums and microphone to the setup.

In addition to the 58 tracks featured in the North American release of Rock Band, the European version will arrive with eight bonus songs:

• Rock ‘n’ Roll Star (Oasis)
• Hysteria (Muse)
• Manu Chao (Les Wamaps)
• New Wave (Playmo)
