Paper Mario coming to Nintendo DS?
Nintendo has already had great worldwide success with the Alpha Dream-developed role-playing title ‘Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time’ on the DS, but people have been crying out for some more Mario RPG love. Now it seems like Nintendo has listened to its fans and is bringing back Paper Mario.
Whilst Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time has gone on to sell more than a million copies worldwide, people have been clamouring for Nintendo to once more hook-up with Square Enix and revive the classic Super Nintendo title ‘Super Mario RPG’. Sadly nothing has surfaced yet on that front, but if a new rumour is to be believed, then CoroCoro Comics, a popular Japanese publication, is about to lift the lid on news of a Nintendo 64 port of the original Paper Mario for Nintendo DS.
Considering the strong sales of Super Mario 64 DS and Diddy Kong Racing DS, it is rather surprising that more Nintendo 64 games have not been made the transition from 64-bit home console to the touch-screen portable. But now it looks like the work of Intelligent Systems is being relied upon once more to recreate the game, which only recently hit the Virtual Console last year, for the enormously popular DS platform.
The question is, would you be willing to dive in and pick this up for possibly the third time if enough extras were included? And what other classic Nintendo 64 games would be worthy of making the transition to Nintendo DS? Let us know your thoughts by posting in the comments section below and stick around to see if this rumour proves to be true or not…

Paper Mario on the DS?! I just emailed Nintendo about this and they said that had no information about the game…
I LOVE the Paper Mario games. I never played The Thousand Year Door, but the original and Super Paper Mario were both really fun (and funny) adventures.
do u have Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door? if u do can u send it to me and if i like IT I WILL SEND U 12$ BUT IF I DO NOT I WILL SEND THE GAME BACK OK ☺
As much as I love Paper Mario, especially the Thousand Year Door (Go Doopliss!), I wouldn’t buy it again if it’s the same game. A port wouldn’t be enough. Come up with a new game.
I would buy a Paper Mario port if it came out on DS. I think it would be a great idea if they expanded on the original Paper Mario, for instance if they made it harder, changed the dialogue, included the Tattle Log from The Thousand Year Door…the possibilities are endless, and, combined with the best Paper Mario game made so far and put on a handheld console, could potentially be made into an excellent game. It would be interesting as well to see how Nintendo would make use of the Touch Screen.
