Following similarannouncements this week, in the lead up to the launch of WiiWare in North America this May, Square Enix has officially confirmed Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life As A King for the download service in the west.
Final Fantasy sees the young son of exiled king reaching a fabled land, once a powerful kingdom, but now a deserted shadow of its former self. There he finds just a castle - and a magic crystal. Though tarnished by years of neglect, the crystal has maintained its luminous glow and bestows upon the boy the power of architek, the ability to manifest memories into reality. With the help of loyal servants and brave adventurers, the quest to restore the land to its former glory begins.
Square Enix has also announced that it plans to release downloadable content for My Life As A King, although it won’t come cheap - ranging between 100 Wii Points for new outfits, to 800 Points to unlock the ability to control new races.
