Blue Oasis WiiWare to link with Weather Channel
We first learnt about Hudson Soft’s virtual fish tank for the Nintendo Wii, entitled Blue Oasis, at the end of March this year. Downloadable through WiiWare, it sits in the Wii Channel Menu for easy access. Today we learn more details about the fishy simulation, including how it will interact with the Weather Channel.
Blue Oasis allows players to tend to and breed a variety of tropical fish on their Nintendo Wiis, carefully waggling the Wii Remote to feed them food, either that powdery stuff that really stinks (in animal and vegetable form), or live bait in the form of wriggly worms. Hudson Soft reveals today that gamers will be able to choose from Small, Medium and Large tanks, which can be customised with all sorts of weeds and stones to create a natural environment for your new pets. Individual fish can also be targeted, just to see how they’re getting along in more detail.
We also learn, interestingly, that Blue Oasis will interact with the Wii Weather Channel, which, depending on the conditions in the real world, will affect the amount of light entering your virtual aquarium.
Blue Oasis is planned for release on WiiWare in Japan sometime this year, although a price point has yet to have been revealed.
