New Square Enix horror title confirmed for DS

A brand new horror title, developed for the Nintendo DS, has been uncovered in the pages of Famitsu magazine this week. Entitled Geemu no Nanatsu DS (The Game With No Name), it’s scheduled for release in Japan on July 03. Head inside for the first spooky scans and details.

According to information from TeamXbox forums, The Game With No Name is based around an urban legend that anyone who plays the game will die a week afterwards. It has also been divulged that the title will mimic the Nintendo DS’ menu screen; sending you messages and unnerving you as your adventure progresses.

Innovative concept. But Square Enix making a horror game? I thought that job belonged to Tecmo (Fatal Frame) and Konami (Silent Hill)…

wow. i really hope that they eventually get this translated. weird way how i found out about this game but anyway, this would be a more mature type of detective game compared to pheonix wright but maybe a little closer to Hotel Dusk.
