Nintendo Wii getting PlayStation 3 port from SEGA
Publisher SEGA and developer Chunsoft are teaming up to bring the first, but surely not the last, ever port of a game from the PlayStation 3 console to Nintendo’s far-weaker Wii system. The game? A reworking of Imabikisou from last year, which shocked many by charting quite high in the Media Create Top 10 upon launch, but plummeted out of sight very quickly indeed soon afterwards.
Imabikisou is a game made up of mainly static photographs, as well as a certain amount of live-action video clips that help to move the story along. For the Wii version, the game is being slightly renamed to include a new sub-title, with the full name now being “Imabikisou - Solution Compilation”. The chilling horror story caused quite a stir on PlayStation 3 in Japan at a time when games on the system just were not selling anywhere near as well as expected, with even big hitters such as Virtua Fighter 5 failing to make a massive impact. However, being part of the ’sound novel’ genre, which is more than slightly niche, to say the least, interest in the game was always going to be limited, and given how no such games make it over to the West, SEGA has yet to translate the title for North America or any of the PAL territories.

Now, though, Chunsoft is giving the game another shot, again with a helping hand from SEGA, the company that published Chunsoft’s Mysterious Dungeon: Shiren The Wanderer on the Nintendo DS. Exclusive to the Wii version is a brand new episode, as well as a revised control system to make use of the Wii Remote, plus the game will now make use of the Wii Remote’s in-built speaker to add to the atmosphere. Never heard of this game. And PS3 sales are mediocre all around. Sony has failed as a console manufacturer. They don’t have a set target audience with the PS3 (do we market it for Blu-ray or games…), and the software rate is far below average.
Wrong. PS3 sales are not mediocre, you are behind the times. Why some people feel the need to spread the same old misconceptions about a game machine is beyond me. The PS3 is not going anywhere and will continue to get better and better. Sorry, if this is bad news for you.
Partially right and wrong (about PS3). Perception is a bitch. The PS3 does have a future for sure though. On the flip side, it’s sorta how people still rag on the Wii as a gimmick or toy or fad. It’s neither of those. Wii is the leader and it makes sense to bring as many games as possible to it.

PS3 a failure? It doesn’t sell as well as the Wii that is true, but I would hardly call it a failure. You get far more value for money with a Playstation and it is a far better product than the Wii in every respect bar the controller.
As far as games go its all about what you as a consumer are into. For me the Wii has nothing. PS3 has a cornocopia of finer titles, but that is just my opinion.
I only stumbled onto this article because of the title “PS3 game ported to a Wii”. Madness I though, how can that be possible. That’s like Mario 64 getting ported onto the SNES. Not possible. But then I read the line that said: “Imabikisou is a game made up of mainly static photographs” and then I realised how.
Anthony did not say the PS3 was a failure. He said Sony has failed as a console manufacturer and he’s correct.
He’s also correct in saying Sony doesn’t have a defined target audience. This is one reason why the PS3 sales have been at number 3 for it’s lifetime so far. Another other reason is the cost of the system.

I think the ps3 is dumb and it will fail only thing keepng it up atm is GTA 4 which people will get bored of soon! The PS3 has nothing new just better graphics and wow High def? lol thats dumb i get that onmy tv dumies, at least the wii is doing something about all the fat asses that only sit on a couch and play while shoving their throats with crap!
