Nintendo has announced the opening of Mario Kart Wii’s second worldwide competition - and it’s for users of the Wii Wheel only.

Users who have downloaded the Mario Kart Wii Channel should receive a notice from Nintendo on their Wii Message Board to begin the challenge; otherwise it can be accessed via the game’s Mario Kart Channel menu. It reads:

“Clear the gates in order in GBA Battle Course 3. This race is for Wii Wheels only! Look at the map carefully and clear the gates quickly. This tournament ends 5/24.”

Certainly sounds like a much fairer challenge than the first, particularly since it’s track and player alone, without the random interference of computer-controlled participants.
