The list of Balance Board-compatible games for the Nintendo Wii keeps on growing, and the latest to confirm support for the hardware are RTL and Conspiracy Entertainment, who have announced jointly that the upcoming Winter Sports 2: The Next Challenge and Ski and Shoot will have players stepping up for some athletic action.

The original Winter Sports was released for the Nintendo Wii last year, and included over 15 events, including the likes of ski jumping, downhill skiing and bobsledding, each of which would make perfect use of the Balance Board.

Sirus Ahmadi, CEO of Conspiracy Entertainment, stated, “RTL Games has a proven history of rolling out the hottest games that capitalize on cutting-edge trends in the industry. ‘Winter Sports 2′ and ‘Ski and Shoot’ will both utilize the Wii Balance Board, a dual-sensor wireless board that can detect the weight and balance of its users. This added feature favorably positions us to fill strong and emerging market demand in the next evolution of the Wii.”

Holger Strecker, CEO of RTL Games, said, “This year, we are significantly expanding our product line-up and offering games for various platforms across the Atlantic. We will continue to rely on Conspiracy as a renowned and very flexible partner who will help us sustain our market share and increase sales in the important U.S. market.”

Since ‘Winter Sports 2008′ was a great success for Conspiracy, it was important for us to secure the rights to the sequel and further strengthen our relationship with RTL Games.”

There’s no release date for either as yet, but we’re guessing that we can expect both Winter Sports: The Next Challenge and SKi and Shoot sometime before the year is out.
