Puzzler MadStone announced for WiiWare
We imagine that WiiWare is going to be the puzzle genres best friend, considering that it is just the type of dip in, dip out experience that suits the downloadable content that the service offers. RiverMan Media certainly think so, by announcing the development of their first WiiWare project, MadStone.
Confidently described as “the most intense, dynamic, and relentless puzzle game ever created,” MadStone sees players using the Wii Remote to smash through rubble to release the power of ancient magical spirits. Called SkySigns, the idea of the game is to shift them to the bottom of the playing field, whether they are collected in a ‘mana pool.’ Collect enough, and you’ll earn the power to execute a move that causes an avalanche of destruction on top of your opponent’s structure.
A Riverman Media spokesman said:
“I’m a big puzzle game fan and I wanted to make something as fun as Lumines or Meteos that also uses the Wii Remote. MadStone has a really frantic pace, an addictive two-player mode, and a 1-player arcade mode that you can make even tougher with secret codes!”
Seems simplistic enough (and hardly displays earth-shattering visuals), but could be fun for a quick… blast. Some competition for Dr. Mario too.
