The Conduit dated, confirmed for Q1 2009
Shortly after the announcement of High Voltage Software’s Nintendo Wii first-person shooter The Conduit in April of this year, chatter was strong that a number of publishers had been interested in picking up the impressive-looking title. We don’t know who that company is, but today its developer has officially announced the game, and divulged that is scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2009.
It appears as if High Voltage are really aiming to set a benchmark for FPS on the Nintendo Wii, with advanced graphical touches, and an online multiplayer mode too.
“”The Wii has tremendous potential,” said Kerry J. Ganofsky, CEO and founder of High Voltage Software. “We’ve invested heavily in our technology to make certain that potential is realized with The Conduit.”
“Too many Wii owners have been told that the Wii is a casual platform with no room for serious games or top-tier graphics,” said Eric Nofsinger, Chief Creative Officer at High Voltage Software. “With The Conduit, we intend to prove that theory wrong by providing gamers with the kind of title they imagined back when the platform was first announced.”
“Conduit was especially designed for the Nintendo Wii” states Matt Corso, Creative Director at High Voltage Software. “From the weapons to armoury and graphics, we tailored everything to the Wii which sets this game play apart from anything else on the market right now.”
Set in a futuristic world, we only hope The Conduit lives up to the hype its developers are lumping upon it.

wow… simply wow that looks amazing.
Can’t wait for it.
Aside from some of the blocky character models (look at the soldier pointing the gun), the game looks incredible.
If High Voltage can push the Wii’s graphics potential, imagine what Epic or iD Software could do with their graphics engines (if they were developing for the Wii, that is)…
I’m already sold on this game. If a company is gonna give me a great game, great gameplay, and graphics for icing too, then they can have all my gaming dollars. I’m tired of crap being sold to me at Top Price. Companies selling us crap to make money to fund their 360 & PS3 developments. All Hail High Voltage. You pull this off and ninty will be kissing your arses.
