Tenchu 4 - first in-game footage, new details
Announced last week within the pages of Famitsu magazine, Tenchu IV, the Wii exclusive sneak-em-up got its first official outing at a press conference held in Japan a day or two later. In-game video from Acquire’s title was shown off at the event, and it’s that which has found its way onto the Internet today, revealing tantalising details about the latest iteration in the long-running franchise.
The first in-game footage of Acquire’s Tenchu IV for the Nintendo Wii is filmed off-screen at the recent press conference in which the title was discussed, but it’s in-game footage all the same, and demonstrates some of what we can look forward to.
The clip opens with our protagonist sneaking outside a building, where swings of the Wii Remote translate into on-screen rolls to evade attack and/or duck into cover.
In addition, characters are seen being killed, with their bodies hidden in foliage to stop any suspision being aroused. Compounding this, we see that flames can be extinguished to darken the environment, creating heavy shadows in which to take cover from the eyes of the enemy.
The clip finishes with the infiltration of said building, with our ninja hero dangling from the beams of the roof, reaching down to slit the throat of an unsuspecting guard. Lovely. and Monster Hunter (to name a few) are all on the way. Long may it continue.
