Escape the Musuem points-and-clicks onto Wii

Despite the control interface just begging for it, the Nintendo Wii’s software library is hardly brimming with point-and-click games. And of those that have been developed, the majority are ports of PC titles instead of originally developed projects. That slightly disappointing trend looks to continue today, as Majesco Games has announced Escape the Museum, based on the online-downloadable adventure of the same name.

Escape the Museum sees players helping one Susan Andrerson, trapped inside a building full of historic artefacts after a devastating earthquake reduces much of it to rubble. She’s visited the attraction with her daughter Caitlin, who is now missing. Players must wander through a maze of corridors to hunt down hidden exits, find Caitlin, and preserving priceless historical items.

“Although an incredibly successful PC genre, the hunt and find adventure category has yet to be introduced on Wii,” said Liz Buckley, Director of Marketing, Majesco. “Escape the Museum’s online success coupled with category opportunity and an attractive price point make this an ideal title to bring to market.”

The above screenshots are from the PC version of Escape the Museum, but we’d imagine the Wii build (released this coming holiday season) will look very much similar.
