Wii Fantasy RPG Arc Rise Fantasia spotted
The Nintendo Wii’s software library is hardly bursting at the seams with adventures for RPG lovers, so the discovery of a new traditional, fantasy RPG being put together by Image Epoch and Marvelous, is bound to be good news. Arc Rise Fantasia features turn-based battles, dragons, and a graphical style similar to the tri-Ace games.
You may have spotted quite a few dragons in the scans above, and that’s because the empire of Meridian in which Arc Rise Fantasia is set is a little bit overrun with the beasts, according to 1UP. Great waves of them pass through the nation regularly, and even if they are killed, the explosion caused is enough to poison and wreak havoc in the surrounding area.
Word filters through that an huge swarm of dragons are heading directly for Meridian’s capital, Diamant, so an army is set out to meet them - a group of men including licensed mercenary Bright and his friend Alse, royal prince and second in line for the throne. Bright is badly injured in the battle, but is rescued by a girl by the name of Ryphia, who has the ability to control storms of magic that appear as luminous rain.
The initial scans above don’t really discuss gameplay, but we do know that a party of three characters shares an AP gauge that empties gradually as attacks are performed, and that players are able to summon beasts called Roguresu.
