Capcom: Spyborgs will make full use of Wii’s power

When Capcom announced Spyborgs for the Nintendo Wii exactly a month ago, there was disappointment (slightly less when the teaser trailer arrived) that the title, exclusive to Nintendo’s latest home console, was going to be another lacklustre third party effort on Wii. However, Capcom has spoken out to deny this, and to explain that we won’t be seeing anything of Spyborgs at E3.

Asked by a worried forumite at Capcom-Unity forum member whether Capcom was planning to take full advantage of the Wii’s power, particularly after so many poor third party efforts so far, the firm’s Christian Svensoon simply said that “Spyborgs will be that product. Wait and see.”

But we’ll have to wait a little bit longer than at the E3 Media and Business Summit, which is being held in Los Angeles later on this month. Svensson added:

“Captivate was the announcement with very little detail shared… it’ll lie low for a bit until we’re ready for a bigger reveal (similar to what we did with the Dark Void announcement last October with the bigger reveal at Captivate), so no E3 showing.”

Disappointing, perhaps, but it’ll be exciting to see if Capcom can surprise us with the action-adventure title’s quality when it does receive a grander unveiling.

Spyborgs sees players taking part in a co-operative-focussed adventure featuring wacky-looking spies and an abundance of Wii Remote use.

it’s usually a bad sign when developers say ‘we’re pushing the wii to it’s limits’ or similar. really meaning ‘we’re not even using half of it’s gpu’
