New Mario Party 8 screens
Over the last couple of days, the Internet’s been graced with many more images in preparation of Mario Party 8’s release (which, by the way, has been delayed beyond March). Between IGN and NGCFrance, there’ve been quite a few new screengrabs put out.
The screens do two interesting things. First, they reveal new characters for anyone who hasn’t seen the Nintendo Power article. At least Dry Bones (most recently from Mario Kart DS), Toadette (most recently from Mario Kart: Double Dash), Birdo, and Boo are revealed in these screens, and NGCFrance mentions “Bloops” (Blooper?) and “Frère Mario” (”Frère” came back through a second translation as “Brother”. Huh?) to fill out the fourteen playable characters. You’ll also be able to use your Mii in certain games, it says.
Second, they give a glimpse of what you’ll be doing with the Wiimote. Chiseling rocks, jumping rope, baseball, tapping hexagons (?), racing, and shooting aliens will be among the 70 minigames. Sure, you’ve done some of these things already, but it’s Mario Party. We’ll see how it all comes together in the second quarter of this year.
