We were a little mystified that the first we heard of Music Monstars was via a YouTube video back in the second week of June; there was little go on other than what the short demo showed off - which just happened to be a nifty-looking Elite Beat Agents-alike musical romp on the Nintendo DS, making use of numerous instruments. Developed by Tivola, the title has been officially announced today and will arrive in September.

As mentioned above, Music Monstars expands on the Nintendo DS’ music/rhythm genre, challenging players to master a number of instruments (including piano, guitar and drums, played using the stylus on the touch screen). The game boasts five different modes, including single-player career, multiplayer gigging, and another in which you can compose your own songs.
