XGen working on new Nintendo WiiWare project
It has now been revealed that there is some good news for European Wii owners coming later this week as XGen’s Defend Your Castle will finally be hitting the WiiWare download service after being out in North America for many weeks now. In addition to this, the same developer has more plans for WiiWare.
As of Friday, 1st August, it would appear that European and Australian Wii owners are in for a treat as they will be able to get hold of Defend Your Castle from the Wii Shop Channel, with the price being a tasty 500 Wii Points. However, this is not the only good news…
XGen Studios has spoken with WiiWare World about how the Japanese market could well be getting the game, all depending on how its deals with various publishing partners work out. On top of this, the team is actively working on something brand new for WiiWare - a completely fresh Intellectual Property. Below is a message that XGen sent to WiiWare World:
“The XGen team would also like to add once again that we’re all thrilled with the response we’ve received in the Americas. We had never imagined that our little game would hold a top spot in the WiiWare rankings against other fantastic titles for so long, and for that we really must thank all our fans.”
Defend Your Castle, coming to WiiWare in Europe this week
Pokémon Ranch and Dr. Mario have been hogging the top spots in the North American WiiWare sales charts, but Defend Your Castle has managed to hog the third spot for easily over a month now, even keeping ahead of the critically acclaimed LostWinds and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King. But can it manage the same feat when release in PAL territories? Be sure to let us know your thoughts by posting below…
