This week there is just the one game being unleashed on the North American WiiWare download service and it comes from a small-time developer called JV Games that managed to stir up quite a lot of controversy because of the game’s original title being ‘Beer Pong’.

Now the game has been renamed as Pong Toss - Frat Party Games and is a table tennis party game that tries to emulate the bar backroom game whilst throwing in some console gaming extras to make things more fun for players and give them more value for money. Pong Toss allows up to four players to compete on a regulation table, and the game offers up several different modes.

The game has two competition modes where players can play in a traditional tournament style, or they can play “Speed Pong”. The game is designed to take advantage of the Wii’s motion sensing capabilities, and gives players the option to select one of three environments to play from on different tables. To add more strategy to the title, there is the addition of power-ups and consecutive shot bonuses.
