Electronic Arts has today unveiled its latest videogame brand, entitled EA Sports Freestyle. The first project to be listed under its banner is coming exclusively to the Nintendo Wii… and it’s another party game - Celebrity Sports Showdown.

Developed by the guys and gals behind the disappointing EA Playground, Celebrity Sports Showdown hopes to go satisfy the world’s obsession with celebrity by letting you play through 12 virtual outdoor sports as some of your favourite stars, from Avril Lavigne and Fergie, to Paul Pierce and Mia Hamm.

“We feel that this game is the EA SPORTS Freestyle answer to a great Wii party game. It explores the lighter side of sports and pulls inspiration from the entertainment spectacles that are so prevalent in pop culture today,” said Dave McCarthy, Executive Producer. “Celebrity Sports Showdown will bring people to the party with a collection of games and celebrities that appeal to everyone.”
