Nintendo releases Wi-Fi router for Wii & DS, not for Europe

To go hand-in-hand with its efforts to provide Japanese Wii and DS owners with constant ease of access and support for Internet usage and online gaming, Nintendo has now released a special Wi-Fi Router that will work with both the Wii and DS to try and remove any remaining hurdles for gamers not au fait with technology.

Should Nintendo release its new Wi-Fi Network Adapter over in the West as well as Japan?Released yesterday in Japan, this stylish Nintendo Wi-Fi Network Adapter is more of a sturdy alternative to simply using the temperamental USB Dongle device that gamers have previously had to rely on. The new router is a wireless 802.11g/b router with a single LAN port and has gone on sale for 5,800 yen (roughly US$55). Just as with standard Buffalo branded routers, this Network Adapter from Nintendo comes with an AOSS button that easily allows consumers to synchronise their Wii or DS systems to it with the greatest of ease, removing the awkward process of having to type in a long security key.

Sadly, though, when speaking to Nintendo Europe it was revealed that there are currently no plans to release the handy device over in this territory, meaning that the only option is to try and import one if necessary.

Do you feel that Nintendo should release this Wi-Fi Network Adapter in the West as well for those that are unsure what they are doing? Let us know your thoughts by posting below…
