Dance Dance Revolution: Hottest Party boogies onto the Wii
Mickey DeLorenzo – the fortuitous American chap who shed some flab after integrating Wii Sports into his daily routine – has subsequently revelled in the media spotlight, signed a book deal, and engineered specific Wii Sports routines for the masses in the glowing aftermath of his much talked about experiment. Yet, DeLorenzo’s shenanigans could soon be overshadowed by the rolling paunches of rejoicing (or recoiling) fat kids everywhere. And why? Because Konami has confirmed the arrival of Dance Dance Revolution Hottest Party for the Nintendo Wii videogames console. That’s why!
As a series, Dance Dance Revolution really needs no introduction, but, for those gaming potatoes, who like nothing more than sitting, immovable on their couches, gamepad in one hand, microwave burger in the other, here’s what it’s all about: It’s the willing abandonment of humiliation mixed with the joyous release of calorie burning, and all of it with your feet in an absolute blur on a gaming dance mat. Or, at least, that’s what it used to be about.

Dance Dance Revolution Hottest Party blends the timeless and energetic gameplay inherent throughout the DDR series with the unparalleled interaction offered by the Nintendo Wii, leading to DDR Hottest Party providing access to the most dynamic dance action that’s ever been experienced.
DDR fans worried concerning the introduction of the Wii’s revolutionary control system should rest assured that Hottest Party still sees the use of the trademark Dance Dance Revolution dance mat for lightning-quick foot positioning, but now the introduction of the Wii Remote and Nunchuk will bring even more physical gameplay challenge to the popular dancing action. More pointedly, players will now have to synchronise their fevered foot movements with specific body movements executed through the Wii’s innovative motion-sensing controllers.
And, what’s more, Hottest Party will also bring new modes of play, an all-new selection of foot-thumping songs, and even support for simultaneous four-player dancing. Gameplay modes included in the package are: Friendly Synch multiplayer mode, which sees each player needing to step on the appropriate mat arrow or perform a specific Wii Remote gesture in precise unison in order for it to register; then there’s an updated version of Battle Mode; and a co-operative Support Mode; plus fan favourites such as Free Play and Workout Mode (watch out Mr. DeLorenzo) also return to the fray to get any exhausted Wii players back on their feet.
Continuing the series’ tradition for quality musical accompaniment, Dance Dance Revolution Hottest Party will also be fit to bursting with excellent music spanning no less than four decades of dance tunes!
Hottest Party’s official release date, pricing, etc, are yet to be confirmed. But, as always, when we know, you’ll know.

If Mario wasn’t in a Dancing Stage (i’m from europe), I probably wouldn’t have bothered today.
