Century’s 7-inch clip-on Wii LCD screen
If your Nintendo DS isn’t enough to satisfy your thirst for Nintendo gaming on the go, then you might be interested in Century’s latest product, a 7-inch clip-on LCD screen for the Nintendo Wii.
The device, which retails at a respectable 14,800 Yen (about $120 USD) houses a miniaturised sensor bar to minimise clutter, as well as a handy box that slides out to keep the screen and AC cables neatly hidden. Unfortunately, a battery pack to allow the device to function as a standalone machine is some way off, meaning that wherever you are, you’re still going to have to attach it to a mains electricity supply.
And, erm, given that you need to stand a little way back from the Wii in order for the Wii remote controls to function properly, surely there are going to be problems regarding the clarity with which you’ll be able to see what’s happening onscreen? It’s a clever little piece of technology, no doubt, but hard not to ignore when, really, you can connect your console to any old television.
