Check Mii Out to go live in September?
It’s been a little while since Nintendo launched a new channel for the Wii, so the announcement that the Check Mii Out function would soon fill an empty window in many a user’s console by Nintendo of America president, Reggie Fils-Aime, at the recent E3 and Media Business Summit was a well-received announcement. Now, though he’s revealed when it’ll arrive.
In an interview with GameHead (which you can check out below), Fils-Aime divulged amongst other snippets of information that the Check Mii Out Channel will arrive before the end of September, reports Aussie-Nintendo:
“We announced at E3 a new channel, the Check Mii Out channel, and we still have plans [for more surprises]. But the surprise is coming…the surprise is coming…by the end of September.”
The way he mentions it isn’t a solid conformation by any means - or to our ears, even directly related to the channel, but given the duration of time between the last Channel, Everybody Votes, and September, it could just happen.
The new interface will allow Wii owners to share and compare their Mii creations. At E3, Fils-Aime explained that the channel would run contests and promotions over time (creating celebrity Miis and having them judged, for example).
We’ll keep you posted.
