Ready 2 Rumble Revolution announced for Wii
Another fully fully-fledged boxing game has been confirmed for the Nintendo Wii today, and it’s coming from the folk at 10Tacle Studios. Ready 2 Rumble - Revolution will be strutting its stuff for the first time at the Leipzig Games Convention in Germany.
No concrete details about the new title have been announced as yet, although we’d bet anything on it causing many of its players to collapse in a stinking pile of sweat after much action packed Wii Remote/Nunchuck punching.
“With the release of “Ready 2 Rumble” 10Tacle Studios AG is focusing on one of the major game brands in the market. The family-friendly, humorous realisation of the boxing sport is unique and an ideal supplement to our product portfolio,” said 10Tacle Studios AG CEO Michele Pes, speaking about the announcement of the game (before the conformation of which platforms it would be released on) in March this year.
Being developed by Japanese studio AKI, it is said to feature the voice of Michael Buffer, the most famous boxing ring announcer in history. We’re also told to expect caricatures of numerous celebrities who will have to duke it out in the ring.
The Ready 2 Rumble series was first developed by Midway for the SEGA Dreamcast in 1999. It was later ported to the Nintendo 64 and Gameboy Color. A sequel, Ready 2 Rumble Boxing: Round 2 followed in 2000, but nothing from the franchise has appeared since - until now.
Ready 2 Rumble - Revolution joins AQ Interactive’s Hajime no Ippo Revolution and Zoo Publishing’s Showtime Boxing as the third ‘proper’ boxing game on Nintendo’s motion sensing console.
We’ll keep you posted.
