Use your Wii Remote as a chopper in Puchi Copter
In its short life the Wii Remote has already taken a hand to a wide variety of tasks from driving a truck to grating an alarm clock and punching people in the face, but sometime in the future you’ll be using it to pilot a helicopter. Sadly, it isn’t in Pilotwings, but we live in hope.
Arc System Works has announced that it will be publishing Puchi Copter Wii in Japan. In the title, the Wii Remote becomes your direct interface to the in-game helicopter. Tilting the controller forward, backwards, left and right will power the chopper in whichever direction you choose, while the B button controls the rise and fall of your machine - press to climb and let go to descend.
Fans of the Sony PlayStation 2 or Microsoft Xbox versions of the game will be right at home with the premise. Players must control a miniature helicopter through everyday locations such as the home, park and hospitals, performing a series of missions along the way. They range from simply taking off in one spot and landing in another, to the safe carrying of cargo and the shooting of targets.
Puchi Copter Wii will also feature customisation options, allowing gamers the chance to chop and change the different parts of their hovering mode of transport - in all, a total of 54 chopper types will be available.
Arc is also working on multiplayer for the game. You’ll be able to face off with a friend in split screen battles.
While Puchi Copter Wii is currently without a Japanese release date, Famitu reports that it is 60% complete. The concept certainly sounds interesting with Wii controls, so here’s hoping for a release outside of Japan.
